Ørsted’s Thalia Solar Center is a 252MW project that will provide clean, reliable energy to help meet Texas’s peak energy demands. Located on approximately 2,500 acres of land in Cottle County, Thalia Solar Center represents a significant investment by Ørsted of around $350 million in new clean energy infrastructure for the county and the state of Texas.
The project will generate enough energy to power 40,000 homes annually, helping to meet the growing energy needs of the state. The Thalia Solar Center will serve as a long-term asset for both Ørsted and the local community, supporting economic growth and sustainable development throughout the Cottle County community, all while providing clean and reliable energy to thousands of homes and local businesses.

Investing in Cottle County
Thalia Solar Center is creating long-term value for landowners hosting the project, while also boosting the local economy. The project is expected to generate approximately $40 million in total property tax revenue through 2062. The tax revenue will benefit local entities including Paducah ISD, the county general fund, the improvement of local infrastructure, and emergency services within Cottle County.
At its peak, the project is expected to create 180-240 construction jobs, with a majority of these positions being sourced locally. The project will continue to require ongoing support for operations and maintenance over its estimated 35-year lifespan.
